Dream the Impossible
Dream the Impossible began with a prompt from my songwriting group, and was completed to meet a deadline. Originally written on…
Sometimes sleep comes easily and sometimes not. This song was inspired by a desire for sleep when it was not coming easily, and the memory of what it is like to wake from a dream and try to remember it.

Send me a dream, oh Spirit of Sleep. Send me a sweet, sweet dream
I just want to sleep, I wanna be free. This ole world’s got a hold on me.
Mix the mundane with something extreme. You can cre-ate the scene.
Take me to somewhere, ain’t gotta be far. Just take me away from here.
To one of your somewheres, and I won’t complain. Just don’t want to have a care
Send me a dream, oh Spirit of Sleep. Send me a sweet, sweet dream
And when I awake, the feeling so sweet Will still hover close to me
But if I move my head or get up from my bed, The dream will ascend, set free
I’ll know I was somewhere, might not’ve been far, But it was away from here
The Sleep Spirit came; I was taken away And I didn’t have a care!
