On My Way

Every journey has stops and starts. But what if I consider the stop is just a pause? This song explores how self-talk and perspective can make a difference.

Verse 1
Didn’t expect to stop and start or that I’d be faint of heart,
but I was wrong.
My progress ebbs and flows, not steady as you go. Still I move along.
Emotions take me up and down while I explore another route.
My path is true but it’s not straight.
Still  I haven’t stoopped yet, paused, but I haven’t stopped yet,
I’m on my way.

REFRAIN:
In my heart, I know I’m on my way.
Haven’t stopped, paused, But I’m on my way
My heart knows I’m on my way.
Haven’t stopped, paused, but I’m on my way.

Verse 2
I seek and search and yearn, I so desire to learn how to be like You
Steady on your feet, You never miss a beat. You are so in tune.
Two steps forward and three steps back. Can it be I’m still on track?
There is no turning back from this path of loving,
Of trusting, of becoming more like You.

REFRAIN

Verse 3
So when there comes a pause, I don’t analyze the cause, I’m gentler now
Instead of judging harshly, Remember I’m just start- Ing to get it down.
I know I’m not quite there I say. I’m not quite there, I’m on my way
Remind myself that I’m okay. I know I haven’t stopped yet,
May’ve paused but I haven’t stopped yet, I’m on my way.

REFRAIN

Verse 4
God knows the human heart, knows it will stop and start, and that’s okay.
God’s with us as we go, be it fast or be it slow. It’s not a race.
God won’t hurryus along. Faith that grows slow is strnog.
We may have to stop and wait to let the Spirit guide,
to listen from inside, and that takes time.

FINAL REFRAIN
In our hearts we know we’re on our way.
Haven’t stopped, paused, but we’re on our way
Our hearts know we’re on our way.
Haven’t stopped, paused, But we’re on our way!
